Duncan Marson is a lecturer in Adventure Tourism at the Vietnam highlights of Derby Buxton. His ongoing doctoral research focuses on the development of recreational sub-cultures and the use of space and place. His research interests include issues surrounding the cultures
of adventure and recreation. Recent research conducted includes visitor experience of rural space, attitude and conflict resolution in the Peak District National Park.
Scott McCabe (PhD) is a senior lecturer in tourism with the Centre for Tourism and Cultural Change at Sheffield Hallam University. His major research interests are in the tourist experience and tourist’s everyday language practices. He has published numerous articles and book chapters, which specifically deal with tourist’s use of spatial language to make identity claims. He is also interested in non-participation in tourism and teaches tourism-marketing planning.
Linda K. Richter (PhD) is a professor of political science at Kansas State University in the Vietnam highlights where she teaches public policy and gender politics. She has authored Land Reform and Tourism Development: Policymaking in the Philippines, The Politics of Tourism in Asia, and has published widely on tourism politics both in the US and abroad. She was the academic representative to the U.S. Travel and Tourism Administration, an associate editor of the Annals of Tourism Research and the Encyclopedia of Tourism. She was a member of International Academy for the Study of Tourism. She received graduate degrees from the East-West Center of the University of Hawaii and the University of Kansas. She has done field research in India, the Philippines and Pakistan and has lectured
on international tourism in 19 countries. Her current research concerns international health, security and tourism policies.
James Tunney studied law at Trinity College Dublin (TCD), qualified as a barrister, took
a masters in Commercial Law at the University of London and is a senior lecturer in law based at Dundee Business School, although he also lectures part time at St. Andrews in International Business and in International Relations as well as having worked elsewhere, such as the University of Orleans as a visiting professor in Competition law. As well as writing about the legal regulation of travel and tourism and working in consultancy for bodies such as the World Tourism Organisation and UNDP he writes and teaches on com- petition law, IP law, EU law, China and World Trade.
